The Bedford 18-1088 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 179-988 and 179988, a gland for Graco spray equipment. Packing glands bracket the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section, keeping the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
  • Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
