The Bedford 20-5296 is a direct-fit replacement for the Graco 25D160 piston seal repair kit for Xtreme and XP Xtreme 115cc lowers, supplying the piston glands and PTFE v-packings that seal the piston against the cylinder wall.

Piston packings determine how much of each stroke actually becomes delivered material. As they wear the pump compensates by cycling faster to hold the same pressure, so a rising cycle rate at unchanged output is usually the first symptom. PTFE is specified where chemical resistance and higher temperatures matter more than abrasion life.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Pump cycling faster than normal to maintain the same spray pressure
  • Pressure bleeding off when the gun is closed instead of holding steady
  • Uneven delivery between the upstroke and the downstroke
  • Worn, glazed or extruded piston packings found when the cylinder is opened
