The Bedford 18-1295 is a compatible replacement female gland for spray equipment, cross-referenced to Sherwin-Williams 178-943. The female gland is the cupped ring that seats one end of the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section; paired with its male counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
  • Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
