The Bedford 44-5623 is a direct-fit replacement for the Graco 15U597 and 184051 piston used in Graco Check-Mate pump lowers. Graco offers this part in both carbon steel and stainless steel; Bedford's is made from premium stainless steel.

The piston carries the piston packings through the cylinder on every stroke, so its sealing surfaces decide how long a packing set lasts. Pump service technicians and plant maintenance teams replace it during a full lower rebuild when those surfaces are worn, rather than fitting new packings onto a damaged part. Stainless construction holds up where corrosive or water-based materials would pit a carbon steel piston.

  • Scoring or wear on the piston's sealing surfaces, found during a rebuild
  • New piston packings that wear quickly or never fully seal
