The Bedford 23-3251 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 176817 and 176-817 — the retaining ring used in Graco spray equipment. Retaining rings snap into a machined groove and give components a hard axial stop — they are what keeps valve internals and pins from walking out of their bores under vibration. Compatible with Graco 390 st, Graco 390 sts, Graco 395 st, Graco 450 st, Graco 455 st, Graco 490 st and other compatible equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Ring sprung or distorted during a previous removal
  • Corrosion weakening the ring's grip in its groove
  • Components shifting axially in their bore
  • Renewed whenever the assembly is opened — they are one-use parts in practice
