The Bedford 23-1600 is a compatible replacement for HERO part 11A-7 — the outgo valve spring used in HERO spray equipment. This spring keeps its valve components loaded against their seats, so the valve closes crisply on every cycle instead of drifting or chattering. Spring steel fatigues gradually — tension loss shows up as inconsistent operation long before the spring visibly fails. Compatible with HERO 1000 MD, 1100 MD, 300 GSD, 300 S, 300 SL, 330 SEL and other HERO equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Ball or poppet chatter from a weakened spring
  • Collapsed or kinked coils found during teardown
  • Renewed as cheap insurance during any valve rebuild
  • Inconsistent valve action as spring tension fades
