The Bedford 42-3167 is a compatible replacement for IPM part 500222, a bearing for IPM spray equipment. This bearing guides its moving shaft or rod, taking the side-loads so the precision surfaces around it do not. A worn bearing lets the rod run off-center, which accelerates packing and cylinder wear well beyond the cost of the bearing.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Scoring visible on the bearing surface at teardown
  • Renewed during a fluid-section or drive rebuild
  • Play or knock in the rod as bearing clearance opens up
  • Accelerated packing wear from an off-center rod
