The Bedford 42-4087 is a compatible replacement for Titan part 441-238 — the wear ring used in Titan spray equipment. A wear ring centers the piston in its cylinder and absorbs side-load rubbing, sacrificing itself so the piston and cylinder wall do not score.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Renewed during every piston service
  • Piston contacting the cylinder wall as the ring wears through
  • Pressure loss from a piston running off-center
  • Visible scoring or thinning of the ring at teardown
