The Bedford 55-1140 is a compatible replacement for DeVilbiss part SST-8405-K5, a retaining rings for DeVilbiss spray equipment. Retaining rings snap into a machined groove and give components a hard axial stop — they are what keeps valve internals and pins from walking out of their bores under vibration. Sold as a 5-pack, so spares stay in the service kit. Compatible with DeVilbiss JGA Spray Gun and Binks JGA Spray Gun.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Components shifting axially in their bore
  • Renewed whenever the assembly is opened — they are one-use parts in practice
