The Bedford 12-5619 is a direct-fit replacement for the Graco 15U596 and 184121 shovel nut, a 4.5 cm nut used on Graco Check-Mate pump lowers. Graco sells this part in carbon steel and stainless steel; Bedford's is made from premium stainless steel.

The shovel nut holds the shovel assembly in place at the intake end of the lower. If it loosens, rounds off or corrodes, that assembly is at risk, so service technicians replace it as part of a lower rebuild or whenever it shows wear. A stainless nut avoids the corrosion a carbon steel part can suffer in harsh materials.
