The Bedford 18-1553 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 183-185 and 183185 — the female gland used in Graco airless sprayer pumps. The female gland is the cupped retaining ring that seats the packing stack around the piston rod; together with its male counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so the pump holds pressure stroke after stroke. Compatible with Graco 5900 HD ProContractor, APX 6200, GH 130, GM 5000 HD, and other models listed in the Compatible Equipment section below.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
