The Bedford 18-3833 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 186990 and 186-990 — the gland used in Graco spray equipment. Packing glands bracket the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section, keeping the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
