The Bedford 18-2254 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 189585 and 189-585 — the male gland used in Graco spray equipment. The male gland is the nose-profiled ring that nests into the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section; paired with its female counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure. Compatible with Graco 7900 HD IronMan, 7900 HD ProContractor, APX 8200 (Chrome), APX 8200 (MaxLife), DutyMax, GH 200 (2014+) and other Graco equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
  • Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
