The Bedford 18-2256 is a compatible replacement for Graco parts 189588 and 189-588, a female gland for Graco spray equipment. The female gland is the cupped ring that seats one end of the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section; paired with its male counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure. Compatible with Graco 7900 HD IronMan, 7900 HD ProContractor, APX 8200 (Chrome), APX 8200 (MaxLife), GM 7000, GMAX II 7900 (2014+) and other Graco equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
  • Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
