The Bedford 18-3557 is a compatible replacement male gland for spray equipment, cross-referenced to IPM 500154. The male gland is the nose-profiled ring that nests into the V-packing stack in the pump's fluid section; paired with its female counterpart it keeps the packings compressed so they seal around the piston rod under pressure.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Pressure drop from a packing stack that no longer seats squarely
  • Grooving or corrosion on the gland face after long service
  • Renewed along with new packings during a pump repack
  • Fluid leaking past the packings even after tightening
