The Bedford 9-1640 is a compatible replacement for Wagner/Amspray part 50164, a ball for Wagner spray equipment. This ball is the moving element of a check valve in the pump's fluid section: on each stroke it lifts off its seat to let coating through, then reseats to hold pressure. Compatible with Wagner 400 SE, Wagner 500 (Amspray), Wagner 500 SE, Wagner 750 (Glidden), Wagner 935, Wagner 945 and other compatible equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Sprayer loses prime or pressure as the ball wears out-of-round
  • Fluid backflow from a ball that no longer seats cleanly
  • Pitting or scoring from abrasive coatings
  • Replaced together with its seat during a fluid-section rebuild
