The Bedford 9-1641 is a compatible replacement for Wagner/Amspray part 50172 — the ball used in Wagner spray equipment. This ball is the moving element of a check valve in the pump's fluid section: on each stroke it lifts off its seat to let coating through, then reseats to hold pressure. Compatible with Wagner 500 (Amspray), Wagner 750 (Glidden), Wagner Avenger, Wagner Blue Max, Wagner Corsair, Wagner Fuller OBrien Chief and other compatible equipment.

Common reasons for replacement:

  • Sprayer loses prime or pressure as the ball wears out-of-round
  • Fluid backflow from a ball that no longer seats cleanly
  • Pitting or scoring from abrasive coatings
  • Replaced together with its seat during a fluid-section rebuild
